For Anyone Thinking Of Having A Boob Job…
In 2012, I had reached a point where I’d been working out for a few years and my body was looking pretty toned. I had been learning about diet and fitness, and the combination of eating well and working hard in the gym, meant that I was looking and feeling really lean. My boobs, however, were looking a little worse for wear.
After losing weight and breastfeeding both of my children, my breasts were not looking great. I was also limited on the clothes I could wear and the type of bras that suited my shape. I had been toying with the idea of getting a boob job since giving birth to my second child in 2004, but I just never got round to it and it didn’t feel like the right time. Having surgery and recovering whilst looking after toddlers just didn’t seem like a good option.
A friend of mine had hers done years ago and they were done beautifully, so I knew that when I was ready, I would be taking down the number of her surgeon to do mine. Ten years later, that’s just what I did. I went to see London based surgeon, Adam Searle, who was absolutely charming and reassured me about the procedure and the subsequent recovery time. I was asked about my reasons for surgery and underwent a psychological assessment in order to assess whether I was a suitable candidate, and I was.
However, the weekend before my surgery, I was with a friend who was visiting from Australia and I started to cry a lot. I worried that something might go wrong, that I might die in surgery, and how embarrassing it would be to die of such a vain act and what a silly way to go that would be. Of course, being the great mate that she is, she just laughed at me and told me everything would be OK. And of course, it was.
My surgeon, Adam, told me that my coming round from the anaesthetic was one of the funniest things ever. I actually said ‘who the flying f*@k are you?’ to him, which sounds hilariously like me!
I am so pleased with the results of my surgery, my boobs are beautiful and just the right size. Not too big, not too small, they suit my body perfectly and more importantly, I feel so much more confident and sexy. One thing I must say, is that aftercare is really very important. I stuck to the rules and didn’t overdo it, even though I was itching to go back to the gym. I have extremely faint scarring because I religiously slather myself in vitamin E oil, there are lots of different oils on the market, but this is the one that worked for me.
I would say that it is absolutely worth paying the extra money for a reputable surgeon and if you can go to someone who has been recommended to you, and you have seen their work, even better. I had my surgery nearly five years ago now and the results just keep getting better and better. I have not one single regret.
